Phil Read is the founder and Director of FreeWay HomeStay International Ltd. After completing a Master’s degree in business studies (2009), Phil conducted a survey of New Zealand motorcyclists to help build a profile of today’s road-rider. It was during this exercise that he observed an opportunity to provide a new kind of service to road-riders and after almost a year of development, FreeWay Homestay is the result of that observation.
Phil and has been riding motorcycles for more than 30 years and while most of that has been road riding, there’s been a bit of road racing and dirt riding too. As passionate about the sport today as he was the first time he released the clutch on his little Honda CB100, Phil shares this passion with his wife and their four children who are all motorcycle enthusiasts. You can contact phil on (021) 626-489.
Talia Read is our General Manager. Having grown up around motorcycles all her life, she too has a full motorcyclist license and just loves being out on the open road.
After sojourns to the US and Kenya, Talia spent several years in Australia where she completed a business management diploma before establishing her own small business. Keen to set her sights even higher, Talia returned from Australia in 2009 to work on the FreeWay HomeStay project. You can contact Talia on (021) 0278-4422.

Susan Mayers joined us just recently as our Administration Manager.
When our members need any direct help, it’s usually Sue who comes to their rescue.
While not a motorcyclist herself, Sue was chosen for her outstanding administrative and organization skills. Her clear communication style and her ability to innovate will also be highly tested as we launch into un-chartered waters with our new service.
