The FreeWay HomeStay Concept is about replacing lonely, cheap, low cost, budget accommodation, with the warm and welcoming comforts of private homes, as offered by fellow FreeWay members.  

When you join FreeWay HomeStay you can arrange an overnight stay in the homes of fellow motorcyclists almost anywhere in New Zealand, for as little as $5 per night on a reciprocal basis, or for $25 per night on a cash only basis.

Here’s how it works

When you first sign up with FreeWay HomeStay you receive three (3) FreeWay Guest Credits entitling you to three nights accommodation with other FreeWay members throughout New Zealand.  Just book your accommodation, then fire up the beast and hit the road. Any road, anywhere, any time.

Each night that you stay with another FreeWay member will cost you just $5 and one FreeWay Guest Credit. The $5 is to cover the immediate cost of your stay – a bed, a shower, and a morning coffee. You pay the $5 when you get there, and our system will transfer one Guest Credit from your account to their account that night.

And, in return, you can Host others as they complete their own Road Trips around our spectacular country. Each time one of our members stays with you, you’ll earn a Guest Credit from them, and pretty soon you’ll have enough FreeWay Guest Credits for your next Road Trip.

And if you temporarily run out of Guest Credits? Well, you’ll still save a lot of money on accommodation, because most of our members will accept a $25 overnight fee instead of a Guest Credit. Not only will you get somewhere safe and comfortable to stay, you’ll be staying with another motorcyclist who shares your passion for road riding.

When you compare that to a lonely stay in an expensive motel, you can see why so many motorcyclists choose to become FreeWay HomeStay members.
